Compare delta E on the SpectroDens
The SpectroDens provides various delta E equations for different applications:
- dE CIELAB (dE76, dEab)
- dE CMC
- dE CIE94
- dE 2000 (dE00) - most common
- To compare printed color with a reference, please set your SpectroDens to "CIE L*a*b* " function from the device lower-left menu. By default, the device displays the "Sample" tab for measured CIE L*a*b* values.
- Press the Up Arrow button to select the "Reference" tab on the device screen. Press the "Enter" button to change its setttings.
- Go to "Auto Search" and press Enter. You can choose "Reference Memory" or any Color Book from the list as the reference color library for delta E comparison. More on "Reference memory" and "Color Book."
- Once a Color Book is selected, the SpectroDens will jump back to the "Sample" tab and display calculated delta E value.
- Continue to measure a new printed color under the "Sample" tab, the device will automatically pick the corresponding (lowest delta E) reference color from the selected Color Book.
