Compare delta E on the SpectroDens

Compare delta E on the SpectroDens

The SpectroDens provides various delta E equations for different applications:
  1. dE CIELAB (dE76, dEab)
  2. dE CMC
  3. dE CIE94
  4. dE 2000 (dE00) - most common

  1. To compare printed color with a reference, please set your SpectroDens to "CIE L*a*b* " function from the device lower-left menu. By default, the device displays the "Sample" tab for measured CIE L*a*b* values.

  1. Press the Up Arrow button to select the "Reference" tab on the device screen. Press the "Enter" button to change its setttings.

  1. Go to "Auto Search" and press Enter. You can choose "Reference Memory" or any Color Book from the list as the reference color library for delta E comparison. More on "Reference memory" and "Color Book."

  1. Once a Color Book is selected, the SpectroDens will jump back to the "Sample" tab and display calculated delta E value.

  1. Continue to measure a new printed color under the "Sample" tab, the device will automatically pick the corresponding (lowest delta E) reference color from the selected Color Book.
